Do it yourself renewable energy!
Using renewable energy sources to produce electricity is a fairly simple process. You need a power source. Sun, wind or water-from which you will harness a low voltage direct current that is then converted, using an inverter, into usable house current (AC). Excess current generated by your system is stored in battery banks where it can be retrieved during more high demand times or times when the direct energy source is unavailable.
Why use off grid energies?

- It is free and does not add to the production of global greenhouse emissions, acid rain or smog.

- Off grid energy systems can be owned by individuals, communities and governments.
- If a solar PV system is connected to the power grid, any excess electricity it produces is fed into the grid and credited on the customer's electricity account.
- Unlike fossil fuels, which are exhaustible, renewable energy sources regenerate and can be sustained indefinitely. The five renewable sources used most often are biomass, hydropower, geothermal, wind, and solar.
